Designed to emulate a traditional European apprenticeship, Executive Vice President, Nick Brown, saw the opportunity to entice excitement in young talent considering logistics as their career choice.

The Green Academy focuses on skill development opportunities across Green Worldwide Shipping’s business segments. The six-month rotations are designed to provide participants with a wide range of experience in building skills to advance their career in logistics. Throughout the program, trainees will work with team leads to leverage Green’s unique data assets and cutting-edge technologies to create and efficiently solve analytical problems.

Jon recently handled a large import project from Jebel Ali to Oklahoma City – we starting quoting this in November of last year and it finally arrived at the Port of Houston last month. It consisted of 2 Shipper-Owned Containers (SOC), and 27 loose pieces – some were 53 feet long. Our agent advised the long pieces could be double stacked, but when drivers arrived at the Port, it was determined that this was not the case. The shipment required 2 additional trucks and a crane at destination, which of course meant a tight delivery schedule. Jon worked diligently with all parties (agent, port, stevedore, truckers and consignee) and the entire shipment delivered without a hitch. Thank you very much Jon, for a job well done!”
